RYHOPE CW gained revenge for a recent defeat by Windscale when they met for a second time on Wearside, in the Monkwearmouth Charity Cup.
John Butler headed the hosts in front and after Dan McDermott levelled, Stephen Bagley struck a last-minute winner for Martin Swales' team.
A 90th-minute goal by Richard Playforth proved sufficient for Redcar Athletic at Stockton Town but the other three ties produced a surfeit of goals.
Boldon CA went out at Hartlepool whose marksmen were Johnny Bolton, Shaun Atkinson, Chris Archer and Mark Ellison.
New Marske also won by a four-goals margin when they entertained Coxhoe Athletic. Shaun Mackin (2), his brother Michael and Josh Mitchell all beat goalkeeper Tom Orton.
Last week, Annfield Plain toppled Kirkbymoorside from pole position but it was the Yorkshiremen who came out on top following a five-goals thriller.
David Turner converted a penalty and on the stroke of half time Rob McDirmid levelled for the home team.
Turner restored the advantage to Plain only for Martin Cooper to fire in a free kick for the equaliser.
Cooper then had a penalty saved by Stephen Kennedy but atoned four minutes into stoppage time when he drove in the winner.
Three games were played in the League. Ashbrooke Belford House lost 2-1 at Cleator Moor Celtic whose scorers were Chris Thornton and Gavin Evans. Chris Charlton had equalised for the Wearsiders.
Houghton Town, buoyant following their performance in the previous game, suffered an eight-goals rout at Jarrow where Paul Tyrel, with a hat-trick, Chris Lunn (2), Liam Parke, Shaun Coombes and Peter Kane all beat goalkeeper Steve Packer.
Paul Vickers and Callum Hannah netted for Wolviston in a 2-2 draw with Darlington CB whose marksmen were Dean Fuller and Anthony McClelland.
